Re: smbmount-2.2.x



Thanks to all in helping me get my "smbumount" command working.

The "umount" command seems to work when the "smbumount" command fails,
but as Marc pointed out, you can 't have any file descriptors still
"using" the mount point. In my case, I had Netscape storing it's
profile/email stuff on the network drive (so it'll get backed up
nightly), and I suspect Netscape was still running when I tried to
"umount" the mountpoint and got a "device is busy" message. I haven't
been able to verify that with 100% certainty because with the weekend
and with me shutting down Netscape the night before the weekend, etc, I
haven't had the symptoms happen enough to prove this to have been the
problem. But I am comfortably confident that with this tips I can now
restore my drive mapping without having to reboot my Linux box.

Life is again mostly good (except for those stupid extended keys still
not working in X - #!@#$%%##!!!!!)
