Re: screwed up dselect! help needed!
Everytime you [U]pdate, your old 'status' list gets replaced. If you
had information on packages you installed on your own (either built by
you locally, or obtained from sources outside your Debian CD), this
information is lost next time you look at the [I]nstall menu.
This is not a problem, if you can live with it. If you absolutely
must get that information back, re-install those local packages
(e.g. pine, which you had to build on your own due to its licensing,
and alien, which must also not have been on your CD-ROM).
Use 'dpkg --install alien_blablabla_i386.deb'
