Do you have the modules for both NICs compiled ?
If so, you should home free, usually there's no need to specify IRQ's, ports and all that
if the cards are different make and model.
I have a similar setup (I do masquerading not firewall though) and, when setting up Linux,
I first load the external NIC through the install configuration tool. After making sure this
works as eth0 I do a 'modprobe <internal_card_module>'. If no problems here, 'ifconfig
<internal_card_address> up' should bring the card towards your internal LAN up. Do a 'ifconfig'
and you should have both cards listed. If so, add the second nic ifconfig statement to
/etc/rc.d/network, set up firewall, routing and all that.
