Yes, I would say that the text marked should be deleted. There *is* a
need to rerun lilo, and dpkg -i kernel-image... asks if it may do so.
If you refuse, I think it warns you that the system may now be
unbootable. (I can't remember, perhaps you also have to refuse to make
a boot floppy?)
