	Uh-oh, Big trouble in Little China.

	Fraid so, Communicator 4.6 has not given me any problem like you
are having.

	What do you mean by 'store menu'?

	I had this problem back with C 4.0x. I never fully resolved the
problem because, from what I could tell, the
Preferences->Applications didn't work.  I tried putting in a
'helper app' for debian tarballs, ie., look for ".deb" and "Save
to Disk" if its a deb file. The listing of these 'helper apps'
appeared to become garbled, and break some of the entries. Before
ever getting to the bottom of things, C 4.5 came out, I've not had
any problems since. However, those entries I made are still with
me, so I still can click on a .deb file and get the file dialog to
name the file and save to disk, with no 'conversion'. I have old
entries for .tar.gz, .gz, .tgz, so perhaps thats why its working
for me. Try to see if there are entries in
Preferences->Applications for the tarball types (as above) and
enter entries for them if they are missing. Maybe that will
help.  FWIW.
