I do this from a Debian box to both Debian and non-Debian systems using scp.

ssh2 has been available for a short while now, has it not? Let's see....

"Note that ssh2 has a more restrictive license than ssh v1.x"

Filename: dists/unstable/non-US/non-free/binary-i386/ssh2_2.0.13-2.deb

Personally, I prefer using scp from ssh1 due to those licensing issues.
I've changed all of my ftp scripts to scp wherever possible.
