its a result from a crash. the filesystem didn't handle it and now (as
root of course) i can't change the file in anyway, e2fsck doesn't see it
as a problem and its now a 580 gig character special! yeah right! need to
kill it (via debugfs) but don't know if that will destroy the rest of the
file system...
