Depending on the WM, you don't even need to do that. With WindowMaker,
running update-menus is enough, it automagically determines that the menu
has been changed and updates it the next time you call it up.

Why the extra quote at the very end? Also, as was mentioned, you either
need to put it all on one line or place a backslash at the very end of
each line to continue onto the next.
