HELP: using (PCMCIA)-modem....
hello,
i am using a slightly upgraded slink (its in fact potato before they went to
glibc2.1) on a laptop, i am using regularly a xircom combo card (CEM-28) as
ethernet controler, yesterday i thzought i might try out the modem part, and
surprise it doesn't work.....
in fact, modem set up correctly i see from
cat /var/run/stab
Socket 0: Xircom CEM28 Ethernet/Modem
0 network xirc2ps_cs 0 eth0
0 serial serial_cs 0 ttyS3 4 67
Socket 1: empty
that the modem is recognized and sitting on ttyS3
now
ps auwx |grep ttyS3

seems ok...
then i try connect with kermit (no external line is actually connected to the
modem, i just want to access the modem prompt and be able to issue
at-commands...)

checked the rights

seems ok....
so what's going wrong here???
