Configuring Login.App

I have been using the Login.App program and like it better than
the default login.  But when it runs X, it runs it in 8 bit color
mode.  Is there a way to configure this differently?

I always used the Xservers file in /etc/X11/xdm before, but Login.App
doesn't seem to have a comparable file.
