Re: Debian 1.3.1 PPP connection problems

When pppd tells you that it sent LCPs but received none and that all received chars
had bit 7 equal to zero this generally means that you didn't successfully negotiate
the login. The main clue here is that when you type to a login prompt your characters
are echoed back to you. That's what's happening. ppp is sending LCP packets but
they're being reflected back but with bit 7 = 0. Is there some other prompt that has
to be entered once you've put in your user name/password? In the trace from winsock
the script which runs before starting ppp doesn't have any output. This is where you
need to look. The best way to test is to run seyon or minicom and manually go through
the same login that would happen and see if everything corresponds to what you've done
in the script. My guess is that there's some last thing you've got to type in after
your login/password, like "ppp" or something like that.
