Thanks to those that offered some help on this, but I managed to get it
working yesterday. I'm not sure which item below was the clincher, but if it
helps anyone else..
1) I created install floppies using the normal binaries, i.e. NOT the tecra
disks.
2) Boot from the rescue disk,and follow the screens.
After the install took over, I did end up telling Debian to load from my ZIP
drive (which is MUCH faster than floppies).
Now, to get X working. *shiver*.
