Perhaps my terminology was incorrect. When I said "console-based", I meant
non-X. Like for example, Squake is, according to my definition, a
console-based graphical game. So, maybe I should rephrase my original question:

Is there any web browsers out that that don't need X-Windows that will
allow me to access pages that have frames and more importantly, allow me to
see in-line images, etc? I now know that lynx can see at least some .gif
files (I learned that last night, sort of by accident); perhaps it can be
configured to be more graphical?
