More Info:

It seems as if the firewall was pierced using ports 0, 3, 6 and 8.

>From the doc-iana package:

Keyword Decimal Description References
------- ------- ----------- ----------
                  0/tcp Reserved
                  0/udp Reserved

compressnet 3/tcp Compression Process
compressnet 3/udp Compression Process

# 6/tcp Unassigned
# 6/udp Unassigned

# 8/tcp Unassigned
# 8/udp Unassigned

None of these ports are live in /etc/services or inetd.conf.

So how did it happen?

Etherboy reported lots of Appletalk, but that isn't compiled into the
kernel..
