Re: X-font called 'fixed'



Do you have xfstt referenced in /etc/X11/XF86Config?  I was getting
similar errors under vncserver when trying to use unix-domain sockets
with xfstt.  If you have an entry that looks like

     FontPath "unix/:7101"

try replacing it with

     FontPath "tcp/localhost:7101"

The "normal" font-server (xfs) doesn't seem to exhibit this problem, nor
does xfstt when used under "plain-vanilla" XFree86... it seems to be
peculiar to xfstt with vncserver.
