/dev/mouse is usually symlink to your real mouse device (for example /dev/ttyS0 :)
PS/2 mouse is /dev/psaux. So, at first you need
# ln -sf psaux /dev/mouse
And your kernel must support PS/2 mice. I hope precompiled kernel have it
but I don't sure (I always compile kernel myself)
