Re: update security packages

Hi all,

I am also confused since I started receiving the security announcements.

Is there a procedure to deal with security updates?

If I install a new Debian system now getting the stable distribution from
ftp, do I have to care about the security announcements from yesterday? In
other words, is the stable directory fixed and equal the one at the
release day or does it get updated?

Can I use dselect to automatically get the updated packges? I think a word
on this in

  http://www.debian.org/security/

would be helpful. Security issues scare a lot of people (not me
actually :).

Thanks,

Marko
PS. Well, if the manual procedure is the only way to do it, just fine,...
I am just wondering if there is a better way...
