I found the answer to my question. After some searching via the web specifying
specifically Rage AGP and xserver I came to some pages that said that SuSE had
developed an xserver that supports the AGP cards. This was my clue that it wasnt
the chipset itself, but the AGP port. After downloading xmach64.tgz from
ftp.suse.de I got the screen to come up fine. Thanks for you help. I hope this
info can be of use to others with the Rage AGP.
