GNOMEish Window Manager

Hi Folks,

I downloaded and installed both KDE 1.0 and all the bits and pieces of
GNOME 0.20 that I could find the other day. Both of them look *very*
impressive, and should do heaps for getting Linux accepted as a OS that
isn't just for geeks who love CLIs.

I've decided that I like GNOME (at least the pannel) a little better
than KDE (it's animated very nicely). But KDE is a lot more integrated
(and I guess, by extention, less configurable).

What I'm after is a Window Manager which looks good, is functional, and
works well with GNOME. Yes, I know E 0.14 is GNOME aware, but it is also
missing a lot of features, such as iconisation. I use AfterStep 1.4 at
the moment, but having a wharf and pannel seems a little redundant.
WindowMaker is another one I use sometimes, but when apps are iconised,
they sit behind the panel, which is annoying. Also tried IceWM, which is
a little ugly (IMHO), and already had a start-bar type thing, which
again sits behind the panel (yes, I think you can move the panel, but I
like it at the bottom).

Surely I'm not the only one who has investigated GNOME. What WMs do
other people use to make it look as cool and integrated as KDE.

Thanks,

damon
