Problems with installing Debian 1.3.1 from CD on a Digital 5000 PC

I'm trying to install linux on a Digital PC 5000 from a Debian 1.3.1 CD,
but
all it does is to start loadlin and then it hang....

Have anyone experienced the same problem ?
