I use isapnptools and the pnpdump and isapnp programs it contains.  You
must know the IRQ and DMA addresses.

Did you get compile errors?  Did you run make zimage or zlilo?  Oh yeah,
sound *MUST* be compiled as a MODULE in order for it to work.
