kernel error?

After my machine was completely hung this morning, I did a hard reset,
fsck'd the filesystems, and found the following in /var/log/syslog:

:>May 20 02:10:42 alsu kernel: Warning: kfree_skb passed an skb still on a list (from 01d5ccf0).
:>May 20 02:10:42 alsu kernel: general protection: 4674
:>May 20 02:10:42 alsu kernel: CPU: 0

does anyone know what actually happened here? This message appeared
in the log about 6.5 hours before the machine actually hung, I think.
I don't know if it's related to the crash, but it did look
suspicious. thanks...
