A shot in the dark ... perhaps you need to create /dev/ram0
kepler:~ $ ll /dev/ram0
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 1, 0 May 19 1997 /dev/ram0
I think the command '/dev/MAKEDEV ramdisk' will do what you want (I
haven't tried it, though, just glanced at the /etc/devinfo file).
