To answer the original question:
a) apache is considered to be quite secure.
b) look at the comp.infosystems.*.cgi newsgroup FAQ about writing
secure CGI programs.
c) Try talking to CERT if you had a breakin.
As to the rest, I agree this is getting silly ;-)

I think not. "However, just because something is in some
jargon file doesn't make it right either " You say "potato", I say
"POTATO."
You were evidently saying that is is ``OK'' to perpetuate a
misuse (your words) of a term; and I am saying it is not. This is not
random flammage at an ``objective view'', this is an expression of
umbrage at a term being misused in a forum that should be better
informed.

I still fail to see your objectivity; if that's what you call
it. A mistake made by a million people is sill an error. Did you know
that two states in the US nearly decreed by vote that Pi be exactly
3.14?
Also, if you considered that a flame, then you have lead a
sheltered life.
