Is that the exact line you have?  In that case, where is "mymldata"
stored?

I would have expected something like:

    mlddc < /etc/mymldata >> /var/log/mlddc 2>&1

to make sure that mlddc finds the file.  (And so that only one
fork/exec is needed by reordering the redirections.)
