Re: Where should I install non debian software?
Use the /usr/local hierarchy for local files and /usr/share ( I think) for
sharable files over the same the network.
The holy book which designates the proper locations for all files is
/usr/doc/debian/package-developer/fsstnd-1.2.txt.gz
