First, for your AWE Card try my HOWTO in /usr/doc/HOWTO/mini/

I don't have any advice about Cyrix. I have never heard of any problems, but
neither did I heard something about positiv results (in fact, I never heard
something about Cyrix and soundcards).

If you encounter any problems, I would appreciate it if you could tell me
about, so that I can put a warning in my HOWTO.
