I don't know what causes this. You could try this:
$ (for d in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/* ; do echo $d ; cat $d/fonts.dir ;
done) > fonts
(all on one line) to create a file that shows all fonts installed on
your system. There you can see if the font is actually installed (it is
here).
A (perhaps) related problem:
Script started on Sat Dec 6 18:16:10 1997
$ cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/
$ ls 9x15*
9x15.pcf.gz 9x15B.pcf.gz
$ xterm -fn 9x15
Warning: locale not supported by C library, locale unchanged
$ xterm -fn 9x15B
Warning: locale not supported by C library, locale unchanged
xterm: unable to open font "9x15B", trying "fixed"....
$ exit
Script done on Sat Dec 6 18:17:19 1997
Does someone have an idea what could cause this?
