help booting - 2 disks with bootable partitions

Have tried unsuccessfully to use Partition Magic to boot a DOS
partition and/or my Linux partition on my second hard drive (first
drive is Win95 only), and to hide the DOS partition on the second
drive from Win95 so drive letters stay the same. Partition magic says
"error writing drive 1" when I try to use the Partition Magic boot
manager.

I heard that there is a way to use lilo, that would let one hide
partitions from one another. Can anyone tell me where that is
documented?

Thanks!
