You'll need to configure the pcmcia-cs package. It normally
takes some tweaking to get everything to work. Look in
/etc/pcmcia-cs directory and obviously the
/usr/doc/pcmcia-cs documentation. The cardinfo utility can
help give you and idea of whats going on. Also look in
/var/log/daemon.log (or possibly another file in the same
directory) for status information.

Best bet would be to finish the installation from a CD if
your notebook has one. The use the ftp option from dselect
to upgrade your installation to the latest release.

I've installed Debian on a few notebooks. Write if you need
more.
