Re: Where is the "League for Programming Freedom"?
Alexander,
My nameserver tells me that www.lpf.org maps to 128.52.46.33
(command: nslookup www.lpf.org). The domain information registered at the
internic follows:

Domain servers in listed order:
NS1.GNU.AI.MIT.EDU 128.52.46.69
NS.BROUHAHA.COM 206.170.15.18
The InterNIC Registration Services Host contains ONLY Internet Information
(Networks, ASN's, Domains, and POC's).
Please use the whois server at nic.ddn.mil for MILNET Information.

That information was obtained via the whois client (command: whois -h
rs.internic.net lpf-DOM).
I tried to snag their web server, but I couldn't make a HTTP
connection to www.lpf.org. Ping tells me the host www.lpf.org, aka
128.52.46.33, is unreachable. My guess is that somebody tripped on the
ethernet cable. Either that or it's plugged into a voice jack and nobody
noticed. :P I'd start by sending some email to the Technical Zone
Contact, Noah Friedman <friedman@splode.com>.
There is a service out in la-la land called DejaNews, by the way.
You can read and post to Usenet through their web site for free. Well, I
didn't see any prices and I did it for free. :) The URL is
"http://www.dejanews.com". Good luck!
