I have uploaded new 1.1 boot floppies, and they are available now in
ftp://ftp.i-connect.net/debian/unstable/disks-i386
Installation notes are in install.htm (HTML) and install.txt .
Please use the HTML version if you have something that can display it.
These are dated 19-April-1996 and repair the network configuration and
"cpio not found" problems. The date is in the root_floppy.README file.
These floppies still are not capable of performing module
configuration from the menu system, but most people will not need that until
they have booted their main system (at which time it should work). I will work
on the module problem this weekend.
They should soon be on mirror sites - I think we're still having trouble
with the net connection between our master site and ftp.debian.org today.
The administrators are tracking down the problem.
If you are interested in doing a "cold" install of Debian, rather than
upgrading an existing Debian system, please download these floppies and
try them out. Please report problems to bruce@pixar.com .
I have two sets of instructions on performing the in-place upgrade, and will
publish them as soon as I can.
