Thanks for all your responces!

I got my card working by properly setting the dip switches. (My option
#1).  The adaptec web site, with it's installation guides on line were
just what I needed.  Their automated tech support line actually helped
me solve another problem.

I have another question, but I'll make that a seperate note... :)
