Do you mean you want it called .../i486-linux/... instead of
.../i486-linuxaout/...?  If so, you can't.  For gcc >=2.7.x,
i486-linuxaout is a.out and i486-linux<anything-else> is ELF.

It is made it when 'make install' is run.  I don't know why that line
was ever in there in the first place.
