Re: time returns -1
Thanks Richard, and all the others who spent their time educating me on
this matter. As a hermit, who lives in the swamp, and has only himself
for tech support, I find the synergy of this group to be purely
wonderful!
I grew up in Borlands Turbo C and learned C++ as they upgraded their
product. I suspect that some of my misunderstandings come from this
experience. (Borland often implements features at variance with the
standard, for protection purposes)
Pointers have always been my weak point, I suspect from the various meta
levels of access and the sometimes confusing syntax.
My understanding has been improved by the help you all provided.
Of all the solutions provided I found:
jtime = time(&jtime);
to be the most elegant (and memory efficient)
Thanks again for allowing me to subvert your bandwidth :-)
