dftp

<cover head for protection>

Okay!  Okay!  I'm sorry!

<whimper>

I'm really sorry! I repent completely!

<sob>

I'll never write anything in c-shell agiain!

<look of desperation>

Please forgive me!

<pleading look>

I'll make it up to you. I'll rewrite 'dftp' in Perl!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, here's the plan... C-shell 'dftp' v1.2 is still in the works to
fix any bugs or implement any suggestion that I might receive from you
helpful people <hint hint>. At the same time, I'm rewriting it under
Perl and will eventually release that (v2.0) both as a exectuable file
and as a Debian package. Those that need to run dftp on a machine not
running Linux (like I do) will either have to change the Perl path in
the first line or use v1.2 of the csh version. I'll make sure they
are compatible with each other.

I'm extremely busy at the moment, so look for the Perl version in a
few weeks or more.

The current version of dftp can be found in the Debian distribution
as "contrib/tools/dftp-1.1.csh". You will want to rename this to just
plain old "dftp" before using it.

    In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they're not.
