swedisch texts in emacs (auctex) and latex

I use latex to write documents, normaly.

I would like to start writing swedish texts, now.

could someone please mail me the relevant sections of a .tex file
and from the .emacs file (or what else is necessary) for latex to
print swedish caracters (å, especially). 

I use Xemacs 21-mule. But it does not display my attemps of
entering ås. what do I need to do? (I would like to keep my
german letters, still!)
