Hay otros servicios tambien que no crei relevantes para pegarlos aqui.
Así que lo primero que debo hacer es levantar ese servicio verdad?
(Tengo que buscar tutorial para levantar le servicio a traves del init.d verdad?
Yo lo probaría, sí. El tabulador en este caso puede ser tu amigo.

así que busco este ejecutable sav (entiendo que me va a servir luego
de levantar los servicios symcfgd)

ejecuta /opt/Symantec/symantec_antivirus/sav. Si no lo encuentra,
indícale la ruta. O bien, desde el directorio, ./sav como te han
indicado.

Esta solucioon me encanto! Es la mas rapida creo, bueno, lei en otros
hilos que estan hablando de vmware, xen pero que en xen es
terriblemente dificil instalar el windows; asi que queria saber si el
vmware esta para debian?
No te puedo hablar de Xen porque no lo conozco. De todas formas, nos
escaparíamos del tema principal si hablásemos sobre virtualización, y
más ahora mismo, que existe un thread al respecto.
Sólo puedo decirte que yo uso VMWare porque lo conozco y porque me va
bien, pero por lo visto Xen es una opción igualmente válida que
probaré cuando tenga tiempo y máquina para ello.
En cualquier caso, la virtualización sería una solución rápida :)
Pero de todos modos, kiero intentar debianizar el maldito rpm!! para
sentirme bien nomas! los binarios que hay en el cd son o para redhat
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0 ES (RHEL3ES) o SuSE™ LINUX Enterprise
Server 9 (SLES9) o Novell(r) Linux Desktop 9 (NLD9)
