Yo también uso windowmaker desde hace tiempo y me parece INFINITAMENTE más
confortable que los entornos "a la MAC" (es decir "a la M$"). Me gusta más
el enfoque NeXT.

Para configurarlo todo tienes una herramienta en GTK llamada wmakerconf.
Si te gusta monitorizarlo todo, usa gkrellm, no es específico para wmaker
pero da muy bien el pego como dockapp ("apt-cache search gkrellm" pa que
veas todo lo que puedes monitorizar). Si usas xmms te recomiendo wmusic
(y si no lo usas te recomiendo que lo hagas ;-) ).

luego coges los temas y los conviertes a .deb con el comando
wmakerthemetodeb
que te instala el paquete theme-converters para que sea más fácil
instalar/desinstalar etc.
