Olá,
Depois de substituir o Ubuntu Hoary 5.04 pelo Sarge, estou a passar um
mau bocado. Não consegui configurar correctamente o tamanho da tela.
Tenho um monitor de 17" mas nas preferencias pessoais só aparece a
opção de 640X480... nem mais uma opção.

Para tentar reconfigurar usei:
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86
experimentei as opções VESA e VGA e as várias resoluções.
só funciona a 4 bits. Não é estranho?
O meu monitor é LG Flatron L1710S 17"
Na opção "Avançado" indiquei as frequências:
Vertical: 57-75
Horizontal: 30-83
A resolução indicada pela LG é 1280 X 1024
RGB
24 bit (porque é que só consigo 4 bit?)
