experimentei as opções  VESA e VGA e as várias resoluções.

Na opção "Avançado" indiquei as frequências:

Vertical:     57-75
Horizontal: 30-83

A resolução indicada pela LG é 1280 X 1024
RGB
24 bit  (porque é que só consigo 4 bit?)

Caramba as frequencias estao muito baixas.... para um monitor de 17" o que funciona na maioria das vezes eh:
[1] HorizSync 30.0 - 70.0
[2] VertRefresh 50.0 -160.0
[3] Comenta a linha "BusID" e "VideoRam" se o video ainda der problemas.
[4] Instala o driver da nvidia novo que esta muito melhores que as anteriores e gera um
XF86Config-4 novo pelo aplicativo da nvidia que funciona redondo.
