plymouth in debian 11.1

eigentlich wollte ich ja danach vorgehen: <https://wiki.debian.org/plymouth>
Problem: Ich habe in /etc/default/ keine grub Datei und in dem
Unterordner grub.d nur eine init-select.cfg folgenden Inhalts:
# Work around a bug in the obsolete init-select package which broke
# grub-mkconfig when init-select was removed but not purged. This file does
# nothing and will be removed in a later release.
#

# https://bugs.debian.org/863801
Wie kriege ich denn nun für die wenigen Sekunden Bootsplash die
eyecandy? ;) Grub ist übrigens installiert. Wird das heutzutage nur das
theme gesetzt und danach update-grub2 ausgeführt?
