initramfs-tools ist schon die neueste Version.

Ui...die sind ja installiert, aber ein mkinitrd mag trotzdem partout
nicht, was widerum nach sichtung der manpage zu initramfs logisch ist,
denn es heisst ja nun mkinitramfs.
Also mkinitramfs -o /boot/initrd.img-2.6.23 2.6.23
Fein, mkinitramfs hat also das image angelegt und auch die config 
geschrieben. Aber die kernel Panic beibt bestehen.
