Compiz mit Radeon 9600 und fglrx

Hallo,

nach einem c't Artikel versuche ich auf meinem lenny-System compiz zum
Laufen zu bringen. Dabei bin ich beispielsweise nach 

http://technowizah.com/2006/10/debian-how-to-aiglx-compiz.html

vorgegangen. Funktioniert aber nicht:

~:1> compiz --replace                              
GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is not available with direct rendering.
GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is not available with indirect rendering.
Aborting!


Hat wer eine Idee was noch fehlt (oder ist das ein HW-Problem, dass
das mit der Karte gar nicht funktioniert)?

GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap ist aber enabled:

~:1> glxinfo | grep GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap
GLX_EXT_import_context, GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap,
    GLX_OML_swap_method,

DRI ist auch enabled:
~:1> xdpyinfo | grep -i DRI
    ATIFGLRXDRI
    XFree86-DRI


Randbedingungen: Xorg 7.2 und compiz 5.2 installiert:
