Absolut schlechte Soundqualität.

Hallo Liste,
Ich habe bei meinen Ubuntu 6.10 für die Wiedergabe von MP3, Videos etc mir
die W32codecs sowie LAME installiert. Die Bildqualität ist einwandfrei, nur
der Sound ist absolut verzehrt. Dabei ist es egal von welcher Quelle, also
kann das Problem nur bei den codec liegen, oder?
Hat jemand eine Idee, wie ich das Problem lösen könnte?
