<Vermutung>Hotplug fkt. nicht mehr ganz, dadurch wird eth0 nicht
hochgefahren beim Booten</Vermutung>

Schau mal ins Syslog vor und nach dem Upgrade ob dir da was auffaellt.
Ansonsten mal ins BTS schauen und gucken ob ein auto eth0 statt
allow-hotplug eth0 den "Schaden" behebt.
