x configuration

Hallo miteinander

Ich habe mir Debian auf dem Rechner instaliert weil ich, ja weil ich eben ganz 
gerne Debian benutzen würde.
Mein Problem dabei ist aber das ich x einfach nicht gestartet bekomme, immer 
wenn ich x starten will bekomme ich die Meldung das das System keinen Monitor 
finden kann.
Mit den Configurationstools von Debian bekomme ich es nicht konfiguriert und 
wenn ich versuche die Daten anhand der Suse XF86Config zu verfolständigen 
fruchtet das auch nicht.
Vielleicht kann mir ja jemand von Euch helfen.
Ich habe eine GeForce4 MX 440 mit 64 MB Ram und einen Dell 1500FP LCD Monitor.
