automatisches ausführen der ~/.xinitrc nach login über gdm

hallo,

eigentlich starte ich mir X bei bedarf manuell.
nachdem ich mir den gdm angesehen habe, habe ich
jetzt zwei (ich korrigiere mich: drei) fragen:

warum wird mir meine ~/.xinitrc nicht ausgeführt?

warum dauert es länger bis der der desktop zur verfügung
steht? ich verwende fluxbox; der ist bei dem manuellen start
flux, äh flink(!).

warum ändert der gdm mir den font?
