Tja, dann muß du, wie ich dir schon geschreiben habe, einfach mal
apt-get install metacity libgconf2-4 libgtk2.0-0 libmetacity0 libpango1.0-0
ausprobieren, und das ganze ggf. um die nächsten Abhängigkeiten erweitern.

Ich hoffe nicht das du Kunden im Umgang mit Debian berätst, denn
1:2.4.55-2woody1 ist NICHT 2.4.55-2woody1.

apt-get install libgconf2-4 gconf2 ergibt was?

Für ein dist-upgrade ist deine Installation in der Tat nicht brauchbar.
Solange du das nicht konsequent weiterverfolgst wird sich das wohl auch
nicht ändern, da es bei anderen ja funktioniert.
