Il ne faut pas manipuler directement le fichier, mais utiliser la
commande qui sait le mettre à jour : xauth. Un « man xauth » te sera
très instructif je pense... pour exemple, si tu veux autoriser
l'utilisateur toto de la machine mach1 à utiliser ton écran, tu peux
faire :
xauth nextract - $DISPLAY | ssh toto@mach1 "xauth nmerge -"

Le problème c'est que le parc est pour le moins hétérogène, ssh n'est pas toujours installé, quand à xauth, faut pas réver.
On n'a quasiment aucun GNU/Linux (j'en ai croisé un sur un cluster, je crois que c'est tout hors de mon bureau) et sinon c'est du Solaris (6,8,9,10), AIX, HP-UX...
Il me semble tout de même que la plupart des serveurs sur lesquels on a des applis graphiques à lancer sont avec du Solaris.
Ceci dit, je vais regarder le man d'xauth, ça ne me fera pas de mal ;)
