J'ai fait le tout et maintenant j'ai lorsque je fait  sane-find-scanner:

found USB scanner (vendor=0x04b8, product=0x011f) at /dev/usb/scanner0
found USB scanner (vendor=0x04b8, product=0x011f) at /dev/usbscanner
found USB scanner (vendor=0x04b8 [EPSON], product=0x011f [EPSON 
Scanner]) at libusb:001:006


Lorsque je  lance Xsane j'ai le choix entre dev/usb/scanner0 et 
dev/usbscanner. Les deux m'amène à la réponse suivante:
Erreur d'ouverture du périférique "snapscan: dev/usbscanner " argument 
invalide où Erreur d'ouverture du périférique "snapscan: dev/usb/scanner 
" argument invalide

Une petite idée......
